Mind Over Chatter Workshops
“A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner: ‘Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time.’ When asked which dog wins, he reflected a moment and replied, ‘The one I feed the most.’”
~ Harold Kushner, Living a Life That Matters
Do you ever identify with the elder’s story? We all carry a good and mean dog inside of us; which one “wins” is decided by awareness and choice. I call the process of becoming aware and at choice “Mind Over Chatter.” Chatter is the voices that run wild, often pulling us down or back, bringing on feelings of overwhelm and lack of trust. When we put Mind Over Chatter, we take control of those voices and create more peace, trust and choice in our lives.
The following Mind Over Chatter workshops are offered throughout the year; watch this space for announcements of specific dates, times and locations as they become available. For those who like visuals, you can also view my Workshop/Events Calendar.
Mind Over Chatter 101: Getting Out of Your Own Way
Become more aware of your self-defeating thoughts in order to challenge them and change them into self-supporting thoughts. You’ll learn the common types of chatter, what’s at the root of those thoughts and how to transform them in order to bring about more positive, productive and intentional thoughts. You’ll come away with increased understanding that you have a choice to turn down the chatter, jettison low-energy words and replace them with high-energy words. We’ll also learn to identify the most common “energy vampires” and how to balance them with positive alternatives.
This workshop will be offered several times throughout the year. The first two workshops of 2010 will be held from 6-8:30pm on the following days:
Thurs, Mar 18, 2010
Location in the Seattle-Tacoma area to be announced.
Investment: $40
This highly interactive workshop is limited to 8 participants.
