Speaking & Custom Workshops
Each of the following topics can be tailored to a specific audience and be delivered as an interactive workshop or from-the-podium presentation. Ideal workshop size is 10-20; presentations can be for any size, with more interaction possible with smaller groups (under 50). Please contact me to discuss fees and pro-bono services.
Mind Over Chatter: Moving from Destructive to Productive
How do we become more aware of our self-defeating thoughts in order to challenge and change them into self-supporting thoughts? Participants will learn the common types of chatter, what’s at the root of those thoughts and how to transform them effectively in order to bring about more positive, productive and intentional thoughts. By presentation’s end, participants will be aware that they have a choice to turn down the chatter, jettison low-energy words and replace them with high-energy words. Participants will practice being able to identify the most common energy vampires/chatter and become comfortable with positive alternatives.
Get Real: Showing Up as Your Best Self
Participants will examine: How do I want to show up in the world? What are my values, and how are they reflected in the choices I make? Participants will gain clarity on values, personal presence and how the two align to reflect their best selves. They will also have an opportunity to discuss the barriers to showing up authentically and how to move through those barriers. This discussion supports people who are looking to be better at networking, job seeking and relationship building.
Ready, Set, Go! Creating Goals that Inspire Action
Goals are often framed as “performance” goals, which attach a specific measurement to success. These goals frequently fail; more effective are “learning” goals that focus on new skills or knowledge to be gained, with the benefit often being that the new learning leads to behaviors that produce the desired results. They can also lead to stretch goals, which take the individual outside her comfort zone. Participants will gain tools for setting learning goals and determining action steps. They will also learn tips on how to work through the feelings of being overwhelmed or stuck when setting out to achieve something new.
